From August 2-4 I was able to attend a training camp on Eagle Glacier at the Thomas Training Center, run by the Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center (APUNSC). Since I am no longer a serious ski racer, I couldn’t justify going for the whole camp (6 days). But when it became possible to attend for a few days, I couldn’t resist the chance to get in some skiing in August, just for fun.

On July 23, we joined a group of 11 other people on a charter boat to Blackstone Bay, which is 20 miles from Whittier.
