Cory's Photo Gallery Summer 2008 Bear Mountain View of the summit

View of the summit

The summit came into view when I reached a knoll at the about the 2700' level. From here, the easy tundra walking turned into more of a scramble as I chose a route up the ridge on rock, scree and snow. When I was on my way back down, I saw a bear run across the big snowfield in the bowl (middle of the picture). It was appropriate that I saw a bear on Bear Mountain. I also saw a fox (same location but on the way up) and some goats.
