Tuesday, May 4th, 2004Ski Train To Grandview
Tuesday, March 9th, 2004At 6 am on Saturday morning, Linda and I, and 700 other skiers, boarded the Alaska Railroad for the annual Ski Train. The train ride was a three hour trip to a place called Grandview. Grandview isn’t town - there is nothing there. It is just a remote spot in the middle of the Alaskan mountains that happens to have unreal skiing. Once in Grandview, everyone gets off the train, and skis all day.
The Bike Ride Of Death
Saturday, July 14th, 2001After months of big talk, Eric, Scott, Erik, and I tackle the Bike Ride Of Death (BROD) on July 14, 2001. It was 120 miles and something like 13,000 feet of vertical. I didn’t do a write-up of this epic, because Eric Maas did one. But now I can’t find his to link to it. I’ll see if I can track it down.
In the meantime, I made mention of it on XCSkiRacer.com - scroll down to July 14.
